Terms of use
These terms govern your use of the Habriq Ltd company website (www.habriq.rw and habriq.rw). Habriq also designs and operates Nearby, our neighbourhood product. These website terms and Nearby’s product Terms & Conditions work together as documents from the same company: this page covers the company site; Nearby’s terms cover use of Nearby.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using this website you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy for this site. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. If you later join or use Nearby, you will also be asked to accept Nearby’s Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Accepting these website terms alone does not enrol you in Nearby.
2. About Habriq and this website
Habriq Ltd is a company registered in the Republic of Rwanda. We build software, research, and data capabilities for communities. This website is our public company site: it describes our work, introduces products such as Nearby, and lets you contact us. This website is not the Nearby application. Nearby runs on its own host (nearby.habriq.rw) with its own product rules, while remaining a Habriq Ltd product.
3. Company site and Nearby accounts
Browsing this website or sending the contact form does not create a Nearby account, does not sign you in to Nearby, and does not by itself mean you have accepted Nearby’s Terms & Conditions. You may ask about Nearby here (for example as a neighbour, partner, press, or institution). Creating and using a Nearby account happens only on Nearby, under Nearby’s terms.
4. Contact form
Send only information that is accurate and that you are allowed to share. Do not use the form to spam, harass, impersonate anyone, or submit unlawful content. We may not be able to reply to every note. Messages about Nearby may be handled by Habriq staff who support both the company and the product. That does not create a Nearby account unless you complete Nearby’s own signup.
5. Nearby (a Habriq product)
Nearby is a product of Habriq Ltd. It helps neighbours match excess to need in walking distance. Habriq designs, operates, and publishes Nearby; we are responsible for it as its operator. Links such as “Open Nearby” take you to the Nearby product. Use of Nearby - including accounts, listings, chat, and exchanges - is governed by Nearby’s Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Those product documents sit alongside these website terms; they do not mean Nearby is owned or run by someone other than Habriq.
6. Intellectual property
The Habriq name, logo, website content, and related branding belong to Habriq Ltd unless we say otherwise. Nearby’s name, interface, and product content are likewise Habriq Ltd intellectual property, even when presented on the Nearby host. You may not copy, scrape for republication, or present our brands or content as your own. When you send a contact message, you grant us permission to read, store, and use that message so we can reply and keep a business record.
7. Acceptable use
You must not attack, overload, or attempt to break this website; scrape it in a way that harms the service or copies our content for competing use; introduce malware; interfere with other users; or use the site for unlawful purposes.
8. Links
This website may link to Nearby (our product on a different host) and to third-party sites we do not operate. Nearby remains a Habriq product and is covered by Nearby’s own terms and privacy notice. Third-party sites we do not control have their own terms and privacy practices. Linking does not mean we endorse those third parties or accept responsibility for their content.
9. Information on this site
Content on this company website is general information about Habriq and our products, including Nearby. It is not legal, investment, or employment advice, and it is not an offer of employment, partnership, or investment unless we say so in writing. Descriptions of Nearby on this site are introductory. Binding product rules for using Nearby appear in Nearby’s Terms & Conditions.
10. Liability
This website is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Habriq Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of this company website. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Liability arising from use of Nearby is addressed in Nearby’s Terms & Conditions.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Disputes about this company website should first be raised with us in good faith. Where courts have jurisdiction, competent courts in Rwanda may hear the matter unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of this website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance, subject to your rights under applicable law. Material changes to Nearby’s product terms are handled under Nearby’s own change process.
13. Privacy
The Privacy Policy for this website explains what we collect from the company site and the contact form. Nearby’s Privacy Policy explains personal data processed when you use the Nearby product. Both notices are issued by Habriq Ltd for the relevant surface.
